Monsoon has once again gained a very dangerous and fast pace in most parts of the country. According to the latest forecast of the Indian Meteorological Department i.e. IMD, there is every possibility of light to very heavy torrential rains in a total of 18 states of the country on July 23. Highest rainfall is expected to be recorded in the western, central and north-eastern parts of the country, in view of which the Meteorological Department has issued red and orange alerts for many states. The Meteorological Department clearly says that monsoon activities will remain very intense for the next three to four days. Disastrous situations like waterlogging, severe floods, landslides and high speed winds can arise in many major areas, in view of which a special appeal has been made to the common people to remain completely alert and strictly follow the advice of the local administration.

Danger looms in Gujarat and Central Maharashtra, red alert issued

The Meteorological Department has declared a red alert of extremely heavy to extremely heavy rainfall for many districts of Gujarat and Central Maharashtra. Due to continuous and heavy rains in all these areas, the water level of the rivers can rise rapidly, due to which there is a danger of serious waterlogging in the low-lying areas. The local administration has advised the common citizens not to come out of their homes without any necessary work, avoid going near any river or drain and keep a close eye on the latest weather updates every moment.

Warning of heavy rain in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Konkan-Goa also

There is a strong possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in many parts of East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Konkan-Goa. Due to this continuous rain, there is a possibility of landslides in the hilly and plain areas, due to which many main roads and paths may also be disrupted. In view of this, all disaster management agencies have been given strict instructions to remain on full alert mode and maintain special vigil on sensitive areas.

People of Delhi-NCR will get relief from the humid heat.

There is every possibility of light to moderate rain along with dense cloudy sky in the national capital Delhi and its surrounding areas on Thursday. At some selected places, there may be heavy rain along with strong winds at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. Due to this rain, there will be a huge drop in the temperature and people will get great relief from the humid and sticky heat, however, they may also have to face minor problems like traffic jams and waterlogging while going to office.

Weather patterns will change in Uttar Pradesh, Badra will rain in eastern parts

Monsoon is now clearly becoming more active in the state of Uttar Pradesh. While there is a possibility of light scattered rain in the western districts of the state, there may be torrential rain with thunderstorms in many parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department estimates that after July 26, this period of heavy rain in eastern Uttar Pradesh will become more intense. At present, it is a matter of relief that the temperature in most of the districts of the state remains below normal.

Danger of landslides increases due to continuous rain in Uttarakhand

Due to continuous torrential rains in the hilly and hilly areas of Uttarakhand, there is a constant possibility of landslides and falling of big rocks at many places. It may also have a direct impact on many roads and routes of the famous Chardham Yatra. Travelers and tourists have been advised to get the latest weather information before starting their journey and completely follow all the guidelines issued by the administration.

Heavy rain continues in Bihar, Jharkhand and North Eastern states also

There is every possibility of heavy rains along with strong winds and lightning i.e. thunderbolts in many districts of Bihar. On the other hand, in Jharkhand, many areas including Ranchi, Dhanbad, Bokaro and Jamshedpur may experience heavy rains along with gusty winds at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. Apart from this, heavy rains are expected to continue in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura of North-East India, where there may be a serious risk of floods and landslides in some low-lying areas.

Special warning for South India and coastal areas also

Even though the intensity of rain is expected to be slightly less over the South Indian states, heavy rain may occur over selected parts of Kerala, Coastal Karnataka and Interior Karnataka. Due to strong winds in the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal, there is a possibility of very high waves in the sea. In view of this, the Meteorological Department has strictly advised all the fishermen in the coastal areas of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka not to go into the sea for the next 24 hours. In view of this continuously active monsoon, the coming few days may prove to be quite challenging for many states of the country, hence the safest solution is to follow the administrative advisory.
