Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan is an inspiration to many of us. At the age of 83, he is unstoppable, shoots round the clock, and stays true to his commitments when it comes to work. He recently shot for the promo of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) and will soon start shooting for the next season of the game show.
However, amid juggling between TV shoots and movies, he penned a cryptic note about physical, emotional and practical difficulties faced. His post was interpreted by his fans that his health is in a bad state and that he is hospitalised, underwent surgery, and was in the ICU.
Amitabh Bachchan’s blog post that stirred confusion
Amitabh Bachchan wrote, “.. in Hospital in a surgery and in the ICU, under the care of proficient Doctors and medical Staff .. a discharge .. and a homecoming ..”
“This homecoming period is the most difficult phase .. physically, psychologically and practically ..” he wrote.
Amitabh Bachchan wrote, “Some brave it .. some succumb .. they that strive and be brave ever remain Champions .. they that do not, get reconciled and live, exist in the past glory .. a choice each makes individually .. Nothing wrong by either.”

Amitabh Bachchan concluded his note with a simple message for his readers: “Be well, be happy.”
The actor’s post sparked concern among fans, who flooded social media with wishes for his speedy recovery.
Amitabh Bachchan clarifies ICU post
On Tuesday, speaking to Variety India, ” I am fine. I did not undergo surgery. It is a misunderstood post. I was giving an example that the period after a surgery or ICU, the most difficult time is when you come home and have to deal with your damaged condition. So when a champion loses, the most difficult time is dealing with yourself in its aftermath.”
The actor said his post was not about himself but the Argentinian football team’s loss to Spain in the recently concluded FIFA World Cup final. “I was referring to Argentina’s loss (against Spain in the FIFA World Cup) and Messi as a champion that lost. People have assumed it’s a reference to me,” the veteran actor added. When asked if his health was ok, he replied, “Absolutely…so far.”
He also wrote in his blog, “Tough for a Champion to contend with the fact that someone else has taken his or her place .. but this is life it shall be ever present .. you go into Hospital, God forbid, for a condition that needs repair .. your body when it went was all fine .. but when surgery or treatment takes place, your illness is resolved, but dealing with the body after is the difficult time .. the way the body, God willing, functioned before may have undergone a change .. and that is difficult to contend with ..”
“The Champion can get up from his fallen state, fight back to being Champion again ..LIFE HAS ENDLESS DATA OF LESSONS TO BE LEARNT ..Love and respect and more ..he concluded.
Big B was last seen on the big screen in 2024’s Kalki 2898 AD and continues to host Kaun Banega Crorepati. The 18th season of KBC premieres on August 10 and will stream on SonyLIV.
