New Delhi. Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee has been suspended from the House for the entire monsoon session of Parliament. Kalyan Banerjee made indecent remarks on rebel women MPs of TMC during the Parliament proceedings, due to which this action has been taken against him. A complaint was lodged against Kalyan Banerjee to the Lok Sabha Speaker regarding his remarks. Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal placed a motion for suspension against Kalyan Banerjee in the House and demanded his suspension.
Krishna Prasad Teneti, who was presiding over the House, conducted the voting on the suspension motion of Kalyan Banerjee by voice vote and the motion was passed. He then announced that Kalyan Banerjee is suspended for the remaining duration of the session. Also ordered Kalyan Banerjee to leave the premises of the meeting immediately. Krishna Prasad Teneti earlier said that Kalyan Banerjee has made unparliamentary remarks against women MPs, about which a written complaint has been received by the Lok Sabha Speaker. This behavior of Kalyan Banerjee is against the dignity of the House.
According to media reports, when Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned due to opposition’s uproar, Kalyan Banerjee had a heated argument with rebel TMC women MPs Shatabdi Roy, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar and Mithali Bagh. After this, these women MPs and some other members of NCPI met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in his chamber and gave a written complaint against Kalyan Banerjee and demanded action against him. Let us tell you that after the defeat of TMC in the assembly elections in West Bengal, many MPs of Mamata Banerjee’s party have rebelled against her and joined NCPI. These rebel MPs have also expressed their support towards the NDA government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kalyan Banerjee’s suspension from Parliament is another blow for Mamata Banerjee, who is already surrounded by all kinds of problems.
