On July 23, in Srinagar, following a terrorist attack that resulted in the death of a police officer in Anantnag district of South Kashmir, local authorities took swift action by demolishing the homes of two militants associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. This information was confirmed by officials on Thursday.

The homes of active terrorists Adil Thokar and Haroon Rashid Ganai were destroyed late Wednesday night into Thursday. This decisive action came just hours after the tragic shooting of Head Constable Ashiq Hussain, who was on duty for the security of the Amarnath Yatra at Lal Chowk in Anantnag.

While demolitions of homes belonging to active terrorists have occurred in the past, such measures had been on hold for nearly a year due to a decrease in violent incidents in the region.
