Delhi. Sanjay Kapoor, Chairman of the Governing Council of the UPT20 League, said that organizing this competition for the first time in two different cities will present logistical challenges but it will help in connecting more people to the league. The fourth UPT20 league will be played in Lucknow and Kanpur from August 14. Kashi Rudra will face defending champions Meerut Mavericks in the opening match of the tournament.
Kapoor said in the statement, “Organizing the auction and matches of this league in different cities is an important achievement. Although there are some logistical challenges, it will help in connecting more people with the league.
“This year, the matches will be played in Lucknow and Kanpur, while the auction will be held in Agra, which means UPT20 has already been linked to three important cities of Uttar Pradesh,” he said. The opening ceremony and first leg of the league will be held at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. After this the tournament will be played at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. A total of 24 matches will be played in the league.
