Controversy arose after a post by this officer posted in riot control and crowd management, on which student organization Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has objected.

Sonia Sehrawat, resident of Haryana, is already quite popular on social media. She has more than 6 lakh followers on Instagram and often shares pictures and videos related to her personal life, fitness and duty. Sonia is an Assistant Commander in the RAF.
How and why did the dispute happen?
The controversy started when Sonia Sehrawat shared a post on her Instagram story amid the ongoing student agitation demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak issue. Posting a picture of a dead cockroach, he wrote, "Can't fix myself and wants to fix the country." This post quickly went viral on social media. After criticism increased, he deleted his Instagram story.
CJP expressed displeasure on social media
The CJP criticized the post on social media platform The organization sarcastically wrote in its post, "We are cockroaches and cockroaches never die."
Sonia Sehrawat was on duty during the Parliament march
Police and RAF were deployed to stop students and protesters trying to march to Parliament on Monday. The protest took place on the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament, where police used tear gas and lathicharge to stop the protesters. Sonia Sehrawat was also part of this riot control team.
What do the service rules say?
As per Government Service Rules, officers are advised to avoid comments on social media which may be considered political, objectionable, personal insult or contrary to the conduct of a Government servant. An official, on condition of anonymity, said that if a government official makes political comments while on duty or even from his personal social media account, it could become a subject of disciplinary action. However, no official action has been confirmed in this matter.

The service rules also advise officers to avoid posting profile photos in uniform on personal social media accounts like Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. Sonia Sehrawat's Instagram handle is '3star_Sonia' and in her profile photo, she is seen wearing uniform.
Sonia Sehrawat is quite popular on social media
Sonia Sehrawat regularly shares different types of posts on her Instagram. There are many pictures and videos on her profile related to temple visit, bike ride, fitness, saree look, meeting students and travel. In a recent post, she was seen in a black crop top and yellow skirt, which she captioned as "Seerat". In another video, she is seen dancing on the beach, with the song "Laila" from the film Raees playing in the background.

Had a serious injury during training
