Speaking for the first time since the attack on his elder brother Vijayendranath Tiwari in Bihar, actor Pankaj Tripathi is confident that the law will run its course. He has refused to speak on the specifics of the investigation as he was too traumatised to comment. He was also quoted as saying, “The attack was not only an attack on my brother, but it has hit me where it hurts.”

Speaking to TOI, Pankaj Tripathi acknowledged that the incident had deeply affected him personally, noting his close daily bond with his family. He said, “I have a lot of affection for my family, and we speak at least once every day. The incident did affect me, but I have full faith in the law; justice should be done.”

He went on to add, “Hum log darne wale log nahi hain. Humne kisi ke liye sansar mein galat kiya hi nahi toh kiss baat ka darr. Woh apriya ghatna hai, and nothing else. Yeh sab ghatna chalti rehti hai jeevan me,” expressing that his family does not live in fear, given they have done nothing wrong, while describing the incident as an unfortunate part of life.

The assault took place on June 21 in Belsand village, under the Madhopur police station in Bihar’s Gopalganj district, because of a land dispute. According to police, Tiwari was attacked with an axe and sustained serious injuries, initially receiving treatment at Gopalganj’s Model Sadar Hospital before being shifted to Patna for advanced medical care. Authorities said the accused, identified as a neighbor of the victim, was arrested following the incident, with a special police team formed to investigate the case further.

Upon learning of the attack, Tripathi immediately traveled from Mumbai to Patna to be with his family. At the time, people close to the actor indicated he was entirely focused on his brother’s recovery and unavailable for media comments.

On the work front, the National Award-winning actor will next be seen in Ohh My Dog, directed by Amit Rai.
