In a lengthy Instagram post, Khan called the paper leak “a very serious issue,” praised the students’ courage, and urged that the movement remain focused on education reform rather than becoming politicized.

Khan went on to commend the students for uniting in pursuit of a stronger education system, adding that he was glad to see parents standing behind them throughout the movement. While he did not explicitly name the CJP in his post, his message closely mirrored the demands and tone of the ongoing protest.

Much of Salman Khan’s speech was devoted to a plea for the protest not to become politicized. In essence, he maintained that the matter at hand was exclusively a student-teacher affair, and he would like the government to support the students rather than politicising the campaign.
He then added that he believed credit for the campaign belongs to the students and made known his expectation that the government would come forward with reforms that would further strengthen the system. Salman Khan drew his message to a hopeful conclusion, wishing that the country’s accumulating years would carry with it more and more respect for education.
And he dared to hope that India might one day evolve into a global centre of education, attracting students from other nations to come here and study.
