Nivea B. Hamilton, better known by her stage name Nivea, recently shared some emotional updates about her health. In an interview, the R&B singer revealed that she has been diagnosed with blood cancer and has been receiving treatments for some time now. Some of her biggest hits over the years include ‘Complicated’, ‘Laundromat’, and ‘Don't Mess with My Man.’

The 44-year-old, when asked about what all she is truly grateful for this year, shared that, “Well, first of all, I was diagnosed with leukemia earlier this year, and I’m so grateful to God. I’ve been going through treatment, and everything is going great so far. And I expect it to continue. Amen, amen, amen.”

She shared that she is “grateful” for life and has been taking everything in a positive light. Adding more context, she revealed that, “It’s so cliché to say you don’t know the time nor the hour, but it’s true, and it just helped me put a lot of things in perspective, and I live in gratitude, like, religiously, and I’m just grateful for everything.”

The singer did not provide more details about her diagnosis; however, she did share that she is dedicated to doing things her own way, and that she is also getting back into her music. As for other new things that she is doing in her life, the singer shared that “I’m going to school for audio engineering. I’ve always wanted to learn how to engineer, and mixing engineering in particular.” The Grammy-nominated singer further concluded by mentioning that she is “just being grateful and taking every opportunity that comes my way.” Nivea is a mother of three: Navy Talia, whom she and The-Dream welcomed in 2005, and sons London and Christian, who were born in 2006.
