Sport Bild has reported that several elite clubs are intensifying their pursuit of RB Leipzig’s rising sensation, Yan Diomandé. The 19-year-old forward is widely expected to depart the Bundesliga before the start of the next season.

Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Manchester City have each submitted offers in the region of €100 million. However, Leipzig are holding firm on their €120 million valuation, a figure they are confident of achieving before the end of the current summer transfer window.

Leipzig took a significant risk when they agreed to sign Diomandé from CD Leganés in July 2025. At the time, the Ivorian teenager had featured only ten times in La Liga, scoring twice and providing one assist, with an estimated market value of around €1.5 million. Despite these modest numbers, Leipzig invested nearly €20 million in a player initially seen as one for the future.

However, Diomandé quickly showed he was ready for more than a developmental role. During preseason training, his performances impressed the coaching staff, and he earned three Bundesliga starts early in the campaign, displaying flashes of brilliance. There were minor teething issues — he once arrived too late to catch the team bus before a match — but head coach Ole Werner laughed off the incident and confirmed no disciplinary action would follow.

Diomandé’s rapid ascent is even more impressive given his unique background. Born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, and partly raised in Florida, he trained in American academies before moving to Europe. His path included trials with several English clubs and a short stint in Spain before joining Leipzig. In an interview in October, he admitted his impatience came from his determination to become one of the best players in the world.

His performances soon matched his potential. During the October international break, Diomandé netted twice for Côte d’Ivoire before scoring in three consecutive Bundesliga matches. He also registered two assists in a 6-0 demolition of Augsburg. His true breakout came in another 6-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt, after which teammate Christoph Baumgartner praised him as an extraordinary talent capable of contributing both offensively and defensively.

By December, Diomandé had amassed seven goals and four assists in 15 appearances across all competitions. His estimated market value had soared to €45 million, while Leipzig were reportedly valuing him at €100 million or more. A GGFN Côte d’Ivoire AFCON preview described him as a versatile finisher and a complete attacker who had learned from every stage of his diverse career.

His physical prowess also caught attention. In a January win over Heidenheim, Diomandé clocked a top speed of 36.40 km/h — the second-fastest sprint recorded in the 2025/26 Bundesliga season. The statistic underlined one of his defining traits: explosive pace that allows him to burst past defenders and attack open space effectively.

As spring arrived, Diomandé continued to progress. He scored his 11th Bundesliga goal to secure a win over Borussia Mönchengladbach, prompting Baumgartner to again call him a world-class talent in the making. A week later, he netted his 12th goal with a dazzling solo effort against Eintracht Frankfurt. Werner commended his sense of timing, ball control, speed, and spatial awareness, while the youngster humorously remarked that he had finally mastered “German punctuality.”

Diomandé’s April display against Union Berlin demonstrated more than just speed and finishing. He helped create two goals, completed seven successful dribbles, contested nearly a dozen midfield duels, and recorded 24 sprints. The GGFN player ratings named him Man of the Match and highlighted him as an attacker capable of influencing every phase of play.

His impressive rise inevitably triggered transfer rumours. A change in his representation led to a legal dispute involving an agency connected to Max Gradel, signalling preparations for a potential summer move. Still, Leipzig’s supervisory board chairman, Oliver Mintzlaff, urged the club not to sell him, insisting that Diomandé’s value would only continue to grow as he developed further.

Within a single Bundesliga season, Yan Diomandé transformed from a speculative €20 million acquisition into RB Leipzig’s standout success story — a full Côte d’Ivoire international and one of Europe’s most sought-after young forwards.
