Bollywood actor and social activist Dia Mirza has questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s response to the ongoing student protests, expressing disappointment over the government’s stand after his video message released late Thursday night.

Reacting to PM Modi’s address on the issue of paper leaks, Dia shared a post on social media and criticised the lack of empathy shown towards affected students and families.  ALSO READ: Rajkummar Rao Hints at 'Pressure' to Feature in 'Modi Hai Toh Mumkin Hai' Song Amid CJP Protest Support Dia Mirza’s Message to PM Modi

In her post, Dia wrote:

"Not one word of empathy for the parents who have lost their children, for the children who have died, for the incredible resilience of students demanding their rights, for Sonamji and the students who were on a hunger strike for weeks. How hard can it be Sir?

Taking a direct swipe at the Prime Minister, she added:

"It took 47 days for you to say something. And now that you have, you have said nothing. Nothing that can heal the millions of hearts that are broken."
