Actress Simple Kaul , who was last seen on TV show Ziddi Dil Maane Na in 2022, is ready to get back to acting. Talking about why she took a break, she says, “I’ve just started auditioning again — for web shows, films and television. “I want to do strong roles — mostly urban characters that suit my age.”
She adds, “I’m also involved with my restaurants, and Instagram has become work too because there are brand collaborations. So I’m constantly moving between all of these.”
Simple says the gap from television wasn’t because she wanted to quit acting. “There was just no time to think about acting for a while. I kept thinking I’ll get time and come back, but energy flows where attention goes. My heart always wanted to act, but I was busy building my restaurant business .”
The actress shares how returning to acting now won’t be difficult because she has planned for both careers to coexist. “We have multiple partners. I never opened these businesses thinking I’d leave acting.”
Talking about the changes in showbiz, she says, “There’s a lot more realism today. There’s more work for actors.” She also believes casting has become inclusive. “Today, looks are not the most important thing. It’s your talent that speaks. Anybody can get work if they’re right for the character. Whether you’re conventionally good-looking or not doesn’t matter as much. Everything is based on auditions now.”
