Honda ADV160 India: Honda has unveiled its first adventure maxi-scooter in India, the Honda ADV160. This scooter can be launched soon in the Indian market with 157cc E85-compliant engine, traction control, TFT display, 27 liters of storage and premium features.

Honda ADV160 Launch India: The scooter segment is changing rapidly in the Indian two-wheeler market. Now customers want not only mileage but also premium design, adventurous look and modern technology. Keeping this trend in mind, Honda has unveiled its first adventure-style maxi-scooter Honda ADV160 in India. The special thing is that it is also included in the first E85-fuel compliant scooters to be showcased in India, due to which it is also considered ready for future fuel options.

Premium design will be available with City Adventure concept

The design of Honda ADV160 is inspired by the company's larger adventure scooter X-ADV. It has an adjustable long windscreen, twin LED headlamps and block-pattern tyres, which give it a distinct identity. Honda is offering it with the "City Adventure" concept, i.e. a scooter designed for both everyday city riding and mild adventure.

Talking about the features, it has TFT instrument display, smartphone connectivity through Honda RoadSync, USB charging port, Honda Selectable Torque Control (Traction Control), single-channel ABS and 27 liters of underseat storage. This feature list makes it a strong contender in the premium scooter segment.

E85 engine became the biggest attraction

Honda ADV160 has a 157cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which generates power of 16.3hp and torque of 14.9Nm. It has CVT automatic transmission.

The biggest feature of this scooter is its E85-compliant engine. That means it can also run on fuel consisting of a mixture of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent petrol. This technology can prove to be very important if alternative fuels are promoted in the future.

For suspension, telescopic forks are provided at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The scooter has 14-inch front and 13-inch rear wheels, 165mm ground clearance, 780mm seat height, 133 kg weight and 8.1 liter fuel tank.

Manufacturing will happen in India, waiting for launch

Honda has confirmed that the ADV160 will be locally manufactured in India, which will help keep its pricing competitive. Not only this, it will also be exported from India to other countries.

The company will sell this scooter through both its RedWing and BigWing dealership networks. It has only been unveiled as of now and the launch timeline is expected to be announced soon. If Honda launches it at an aggressive price, it could become a big option in the premium maxi-scooter segment.
