Recently during a podcast, Leslie told that her brother started working in the adult content industry due to financial constraints during the Covid-19 pandemic. He said that this decision was not easy for the family and even today they have to listen to people’s taunts because of this.

There was no work during Covid

Leslie Tripathi, while talking in the ‘Badi Baat’ podcast, said that the entertainment industry was badly affected during the Corona epidemic in the year 2021. Shootings were stopped and a large number of artists were out of work. He said that Shakespeare Tripathi was also one of those artists who was constantly looking for work. Due to not getting work for a long time, he was forced to stay at home and his financial condition also started getting affected. Leslie said, “Everyone was short of work during Covid. My brother was also sitting at home. He was getting bored and was looking for some means of earning. During that time, he started this work.”

The family was not aware of the truth

Leslie told that initially the family had no idea what kind of project Shakespeare was working on. He said that the family only knew that he was going for shooting. No one had any idea in which industry he was going to work. After some time, when his videos started surfacing on the internet, the family came to know that he had started working in the adult content industry.

Trolling started on social media

Leslie Tripathi told that as soon as the videos surfaced, people started targeting her and her family on social media. He said that people started tagging him in obscene posts, taunting him and making objectionable comments against the family. Leslie said, “People started tagging me. They started abusing me. Even my father started being abused. Initially we thought that maybe someone had misused my brother’s photo.”

When I asked my brother, I got a shocking answer.

Leslie told that when she talked to her brother about this, she hoped that maybe it would be a fake video or someone might have misused her picture. But Shakespeare himself admitted that the videos are genuine and he was the one who started this work. Leslie said, “We told him to look at what is being created by posting your photo. He replied that it is not fake. I have started this work.” When the family asked him why he took such a decision, Shakespeare only said that he did not want to discuss the subject much.

‘It was not easy for us to accept this’

Leslie told that this whole situation was very difficult for the family. He did not like this decision of his brother, because he always saw him as a strong actor. She said, “I always felt that my brother was a very good actor. I wanted him to make his mark in films and web series. So when all this came to light, we were very sad.”

Have worked with big stars

Leslie told that Shakespeare Tripathi had also worked with many big artists during his acting career. He said that his brother got the opportunity to work with famous names like Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan. Despite this, he did not get the recognition and continuous work that he expected. Leslie says that this was the reason why he had to take such a decision due to financial pressure.

Even today one has to listen to the taunts.

Leslie said that even after many years, people still taunt her and her family over this issue. He said that even today people share old videos on social media and comment on the family, which causes them a lot of mental pain. According to him, the decision of one person affects the entire family and they too have to face criticism from the society.
