NEET-CBSE controversy: Congress will hold candle march and Satyagraha across the country tomorrow, party will come out in support of students

Congress will organize candlelight marches and Satyagraha at the district level across the country on Saturday, July 25 to express solidarity with the students and issues to NEET and CBSE. Congress Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal has issued instructions to all state Congress committees and district units in this regard.

Nationwide movement in support of students

According to the circular issued by the Congress, party workers will take out massive candle marches in their respective districts on Saturday evening. The march will be led by the District Congress Committees and will conclude near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi or Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. During this period, solidarity will be shown towards students and youth through Satyagraha.

KC Venugopal, in a letter issued on July 24, has asked the State Congress Committees to give instructions to all the District Congress Committees under their jurisdiction to organize the program. This program is being organized on the instructions of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

Congress’s opposition to NEET and examination system

Congress says that the alleged irregularities and failures in the education and examination system are having a direct impact on the future of students and youth. The party has demanded to restore the credibility of the exam system.

Congress has once again reiterated its demand for the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The party alleges that the government should address the concerns of students on exam- issues on priority basis.

Appeal to students, youth and parents to participate

AICC has asked all the cells, departments and workers of the party, apart from the state, district and block level Congress committees, to ensure active participation in the program. Congress has appealed to more and more students, youth, parents and representatives of civil society to join this campaign. The aim of the party is to highlight the issues of students and strengthen the demand for reforms in the examination system through this nationwide candle march and Satyagraha.
