Following their triumph over Zimbabwe in the opening T20I, India is set to pursue an early series victory by clinching the second match. The two teams will face off in the second T20I of the three-match series at Harare Sports Club on Saturday (July 24). The Indian squad showcased a commanding performance, securing a seven-wicket victory by successfully chasing down a target of 126 runs. After opting to bowl first, the Indian bowlers effectively limited Zimbabwe to 125 runs. Mayank Yadav made a remarkable return, taking a wicket with his very first delivery of the match, earning him the Player of the Match accolade for his outstanding performance.
Although debutant Ashok Sharma did not take any wickets in his four-over spell, he only allowed 29 runs. Prince Yadav continued his impressive form, claiming two wickets for just 19 runs. Both Shivam Dube and Ravi Bishnoi contributed by taking one wicket each.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi finally made his mark in international cricket, scoring an impressive 50 runs off just 19 balls. This match took place at the same venue where he previously scored 175 runs in the final of the 2026 U19 World Cup. Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for a single run, while Ishan Kishan contributed a crucial 35 runs. Captain Shreyas Iyer remained not out at 28 runs off 24 balls, leading India to victory. This match marked India's first win under Iyer's captaincy.
