Manchester United are keen to sign Bologna star Jonathan Rowe.

According to Corriere della Sera, Everton are also interested in the English forward.

United manager Michael Carrick mostly deployed Matheus Cunha and Patrick Dorgu on the left wing last season, but he wants a specialist for that role.

Crysencio Summerville was seen as the ideal choice, but United wanted to settle Marcus Rashford’s future before making a move.

That delay gave Al-Hilal time to agree a £60m deal with West Ham, and the Dutchman is now set for a switch to Saudi Arabia.

United may now shift their focus to Rowe. The 23-year-old came through the Norwich City youth academy before making his competitive debut in December 2021.

He did not exactly light up his spell at Norwich, finishing with 13 goals and five assists in 56 appearances.

Rowe also found things difficult during his later stint with Ligue 1 side Marseille, where he managed only three goals in 31 matches.

But his scoring numbers improved after he joined Bologna last summer.

He registered eight goals and five assists in 44 appearances across all competitions last season.

United have already confirmed the arrivals of Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, Karl Darlow and Tynan Thompson.

They are still aiming to bring in a third midfielder and a new left-back before the transfer window closes.
