Tezzbuzz Desk- An important meeting was held on Friday at Vitthal House in Delhi between the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and the Central Government regarding the paper leak issue and the demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. This was the second formal talk between the two sides after the beginning of the movement. Union ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh represented the government in the meeting, while national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka and chief spokesperson Saurav Das attended the CJP side.

Even before the meeting, CJP’s founding president Abhijit Dipke had made it clear that his agitation would not end until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan tenders his resignation. He said that the organization is not ready to make any kind of compromise on this demand.

After the meeting that lasted for about two hours, CJP held a press conference and shared the details of the conversation. National spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said that the organization placed three major demands before the government, the most important of which is the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. He said that the government has asked for time till Saturday afternoon to take a decision on this demand.

Ranka said, “We hope that the government will soon decide to remove Dharmendra Pradhan from the post. The government has agreed in principle to our two other demands.” According to him, the government has shown a positive stance by compensating the families of NEET aspirants who allegedly committed suicide in paper leak cases and withdrawing 11 FIRs and other legal cases registered against students during the agitation.

After the meeting, Union Minister and BJP President JP Nadda said that the discussion took place in a positive atmosphere. He said that apart from three major demands, CJP has also put forward five suggestions to the government to improve the examination system. Nadda said that the government is considering all these points and there will be a meeting with the representatives again on Saturday afternoon, in which the government will give its detailed reply.

However, there was a difference in the claims of both the sides regarding the duration of the meeting. While the government said the meeting would last for about two hours, CJP’s chief spokesperson Saurav Das claimed that the conversation lasted only 10 minutes. He reiterated that the movement will not end without the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan and the organization remains firm on its stand.

Before the meeting, Abhijeet Dipke said that this movement is not of any one person or political party, but of the youth of the country. He said that if the government wants a permanent solution to this dispute then it will have to ensure the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He also said that the movement should not be linked to the opposition.

Dipke also reacted to Sonam Wangchuk ending her hunger strike. He said he was happy that Wangchuk had ended his fast as his health was continuously deteriorating. He also alleged that opposition leaders and people associated with the movement were not allowed to meet Wangchuk.

Earlier, Union Minister Jitendra Singh had also appealed to the agitating students and CJP to find a solution through talks. He said the government sent a proposal for talks at least four times in the last 24 hours and its doors are open for talks. Singh appealed to the protesting students to find a way forward through dialogue.

Now all eyes are on the next meeting to be held on Saturday. CJP hopes that the government can take a decision on the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, while the government has assured to consider all the demands. If no consensus is reached, CJP has indicated to continue its agitation.
