Ramayana Movie:There is tremendous excitement among the audience about director Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film ‘Ramayana’. In the film, Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Lord Shri Ram, Sai Pallavi is playing the role of Mata Sita and Yash is playing the role of Ravana. Meanwhile, TV’s popular ‘Sita’ Deepika Chikhlia has given her reaction on Sai Pallavi becoming Sita. He praised the actress, but also openly expressed his opinion about the nature of Mother Sita.
‘It remains to be seen how Sai Pallavi will look on screen’
Talking about Sai Pallavi to play the role of Sita during an interview with Variety India, Deepika said, “I have seen his work. She is a very good actress. But I don’t know how she will look in the role of Sita. We will know only when we see them. Right now I don’t know anything. The description of Sita in Tulsidas’ Ramayana describes a woman with almond-like eyes, special height, hair and complexion. There is no mention of Sitaji with curly hair in Ramayana.
Ramanand Sagar was looking for such an actress and he saw those qualities in me. I know they are all good actors. If she fits the bill for this role, then it is a good thing.”
‘There is no mention of Sita’s curly hair in Ramayana’
Deepika Chikhalia also made an interesting comment during the conversation. She said- “I am identified as Sita. Sometimes people forget my name, but they remember that I played the role of Sita. So, that is my identity. I think our Ramayana will have a huge impact on the film ‘Ramayana’. During the pandemic, when our Ramayana was shown on Doordarshan, the new generation also watched it. Therefore, it is very difficult to erase that impression. She feels that “It is very difficult to erase the impression of the old Ramayana. Will happen”.
Arun Govil will play the role of King Dasharatha
Interestingly, Arun Govil, who played the role of Lord Shri Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayana’, is playing the role of King Dasharatha in Nitish Tiwari’s film this time. Whereas, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen as Lord Shri Ram and Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita.
The film will be released in Diwali 2026
‘Ramayana’, being made with a budget of around Rs 4000 crore, is being counted among the most expensive films of Indian cinema. The music of the film was composed by A.R. Rahman and Oscar winner Hans Zimmer are producing.
The first part of the film will be released in theaters on Diwali 2026, while the second part will be released in 2027.
