The month of Sawan is considered the most sacred and fruitful for the worship of Lord Shiva. In the year 2026, Saavan is starting from 30th July. According to religious beliefs, by worshiping Lord Bholenath as per rituals, Jalabhishek, Rudrabhishek and chanting mantras throughout this month, the seeker attains special virtues. It is believed that when Lord Shiva is worshiped with devotion and true heart in Sawan, he becomes happy and fulfills the wishes of the devotees.

There are some auspicious things which are considered auspicious to bring home before the start of Sawan. Let us know which things are considered auspicious to bring home before Saavan and what is the simple method of worshiping Lord Shiva in Saavan.

1. Rudraksh

Rudraksha is considered very dear to Lord Shiva. Therefore, before the start of Sawan, it is considered auspicious to bring Rudraksha or Rudraksha rosary home and install it in the temple. Wearing Rudraksh during worship or chanting mantra with it keeps the mind concentrated and positive energy is transmitted.

2. Copper pot and Ganges water

Performing Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva with a copper vessel is considered very auspicious. Therefore, it is considered good to buy a copper pot before Sawan. Along with this, you must also keep Ganga water in the house, because offering Ganga water on Shivling has been said to have special significance.

3. Statue of Nandi Maharaj

Nandi is an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva and his vehicle. Therefore, before Sawan, it is considered auspicious to bring home a small Nandi idol made of silver, brass or any other metal. It is believed that installing the statue of Nandi in the puja room or near the safe brings happiness, prosperity and positivity in the house.

4. Damru

Damru is one of the major symbols of Lord Shiva. According to religious belief, Damru is considered a symbol of divine sound and positive energy of the universe. Before the start of Sawan, bringing a small damru home and keeping it in the temple keeps the atmosphere of the house auspicious and positive.

5. Trishul

Trishul is considered the divine weapon of Lord Shiva. It symbolizes protection from negative forces and balance in life. It is considered auspicious to install a small trident in the home temple before Sawan.

6. Belpatra

Belpatra is considered one of the most favorite offerings to Lord Shiva. If possible, arrange for Belpatra leaves before the start of Saavan or locate a Bael tree near the house, so that fresh Belpatra leaves can be offered to Shivling regularly throughout the Saavan. It is believed that by offering Belpatra, Lord Shiva gets pleased quickly and fulfills the wishes of the devotees.
