Varun Tej's 'Korean Kanakaraju' bags Rs 26 crore non-theatrical deal ahead of release - Report

Tollywood actor Varun Tej is gearing up for the release of his upcoming Indo-Korean horror comedy film , ‘ Korean Kanakaraju ’. As the film is set to hit theaters on August 7, the makers seem to have locked a non-theatrical deal.

‘Korean Kanakaraju’ non-theatricalAs per a report by Aakashavaani, the makers have closed a big non-theatrical deal of Rs 26 crore. The reported deal includes the film’s digital streaming rights and satellite television rights. If the reports are true, the amount will help the makers recover a part of the film’s production cost before its theatrical release.

However, there has been no official confirmation from the makers yet.

About ‘Korean Kanakaraju’Talking about the film, ‘Korean Kanakaraju’ includes Indian and Korean elements in the film. The teaser of the film shows Varun Tej seen as a rugged man who gets angry quickly, who also enjoys drinking alcohol by the name Kanagaraju. However, his life changes after some supernatural powers get transferred to him.

Speaking about the cast, it features Ritika Naik stars as the female lead and also includes Satya in an important role.

The team also released the film's second single, ‘Rasaagummadi’. The energetic song is composed by Thaman S , who also sang it along with Nalgonda Gaddar Narsanna, Jangi Reddy and Anthony Daasan.


The lyrics are written by Kasarla Shyam.Meanwhile, on his current work front, Varun Tej was last seen in the period action drama ‘Matka’ directed by Karuna Kumar.

‘ Bhari ’ is Varun Tej’s next project

He is also working on his upcoming film, ‘Bhari’ which is set to be a sports action drama where, Varun Tej will be seen playing volleyball. The film is directed by Yadhu Vamsee and is backed by his cousin Niharika Konidela.

The film was officially launched with a pooja ceremony on March 28, 2026.
