Delhi Limits Liquor Store Hours Amid Student Protests

New Delhi, July 24 - In response to ongoing student protests, authorities in Delhi have mandated that all liquor stores remain open only until 8 PM throughout the weekend. This decision was communicated by sources on Friday. Many individuals expressed disappointment on Thursday when stores closed earlier than expected, forcing them to leave without purchasing alcohol.
Typically, liquor outlets in Delhi operate until 10 PM. A senior official from the Delhi government stated, “From now on, stores will close at 8 PM during the weekends. This decision was made based on information received from the police regarding the current situation stemming from the protests at Jantar Mantar.”
