Even before removing 47 officials, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had already issued advertisements this week for senior professional roles at the General Manager level. Simultaneously, the recruitment process for 16 Young Professionals via the UPSC's 'Pratibha Setu' portal has also been initiated.
**What does the NTA's institutional restructuring entail?**
A press release issued by the NTA states that these measures represent the first concrete step towards the agency's institutional restructuring. These appointments are being made based on the recommendations of a high-level expert committee chaired by K. Radhakrishnan.
**Advertisements issued for General Manager posts across four departments**
Advertisements have been released to recruit for four General Manager positions on a contractual basis. The initial tenure for each post will be three years. The four departments for which these General Manager posts have been advertised are: Assessment Research & Development and Psychometrics; Test Center Network and Operations; Information Security; and Vigilance, Investigation, and Forensics. Each of these positions requires specific qualifications and experience.
**How will Young Professionals be appointed?**
Additionally, 16 Young Professionals are being recruited through the UPSC's 'Pratibha Setu' portal—a first for the NTA. This recruitment drive targets candidates who have appeared for the Civil Services Examination and are registered on the 'Pratibha Setu' portal. The openings include twelve positions in Academic Research, two in Legal Research, and two in Finance and Accounts.
