US President Donald Trump has given a direct and strong warning to China and Russia that if they supply weapons to Iran, they will have to face very serious consequences. This statement of Trump has come at a time when tension in West Asia is at its peak. However, along with this warning, Trump has also expressed confidence that Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin will definitely keep their promise, because both the leaders had already assured him that they would not provide any kind of military assistance to Tehran.

‘If Russia and China give arms to Iran, the consequences will be very bad’

Sharing a scathing post on his official social media platform ‘Truth Social’, US President Donald Trump revealed that Beijing and Moscow have assured him that they will not provide arms to Iran. Trump especially emphasized that if these two countries deviate from their stance and help Iran, it will not be good for them at all and its consequences will prove to be very bad.

Trump wrote in his post that these two big countries of the world, which people often discuss in the context of Iran, are not helping Iran in this war. He clearly stated that if they tried to do so, it would absolutely not be in their own best interests and would make things much worse for them.

Mentioned about the meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping

Donald Trump revealed that in his meeting in Beijing some time ago, Chinese President Xi Jinping had promised him that China would neither give nor sell arms to the Islamic Republic of Iran under any circumstances. Trump said that considering their mutual relations, he fully trusts Xi Jinping. Along with this, he also sarcastically said that anyway he is doing a big favor to them. Trump further clarified that all the companies to China’s defense are fully included in the scope of Xi’s promise.

‘I sell weapons not to Ukraine, but to NATO countries’

Referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the US President said that Putin has also made a similar promise regarding the sale of arms to Iran. Trump said that despite the horrific and destructive war going on in Ukraine, Russian President Putin had made it clear to him that he would not sell any kind of weapons to Iran.

Along with this, Trump also claimed that Putin has completely accepted Washington’s system and structure regarding defense equipment supplied to Ukraine. Giving his clarification, Trump said, “He understands very well that I sell weapons not directly to Ukraine, but to NATO countries, in return for which they pay the full price. However, I have no information about how and where those weapons are distributed later.”

Why did Trump suddenly have to give this warning amid the Iran war?

Political experts believe that these sharp claims of Trump have come after the reports in which it was being said that American intelligence agencies and Washington are closely assessing whether Russia and China have provided any kind of intelligence or technical help to Iran behind the attacks on American military bases. However, while speaking to the media, Trump completely avoided giving details of any ongoing official investigation, but he repeatedly reiterated that Russia and China are not providing any military assistance to Iran.

Experts say that this tough stance of Trump is not new. He has often advocated maintaining a strong and respectful diplomatic relationship with superpowers such as China and Russia. In comparison to his traditional European allies, Trump has always shown a somewhat soft attitude towards the top leadership of these two countries, but as per his old style, he does not forget to make them realize his power and warn them from time to time.
