Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi following weeks of student protests over the NEET controversy and alleged exam paper leaks. While his resignation has been tendered, it is yet to receive official acceptance. The development quickly became a major talking point on social media, with students protesting at Jantar Mantar celebrating the move.

Bollywood and Hollywood actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas hailed the decision and reacted to Faye D’Souza’s Instagram post regarding Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation update. She dropped red heart, clapping hands and raising hands emojis in the comments section. The post also received reactions from Varun Dhawan , Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal who simply liked the post.

He posted on X, Pradhan wrote, “My young friends, for more than four decades, I have remained dedicated to students, teachers, and education reforms. I have always believed that a strong, inclusive, and visionary education system is the foundation of a strong nation."
He added, “I deeply respect the aspirations, emotions, and legitimate expectations of the youth of the country. Turning the dreams of India’s young generation into reality has been a moral commitment of all of us in political and social life. I express my gratitude to the Prime Minister for giving me the opportunity to serve the nation under his visionary leadership."
“From the very first day, I took responsibility for the situation and never shied away from it. My resolve was that no deserving student should suffer because of examination mafias and no student should face injustice," the letter read.
