The husband committed the crime by breaking the protective order.

According to the Owasso Police Department, the incident occurred Thursday night, July 23. Police say that Sarah’s estranged husband, Jeremiah Shawn Duffy, arrived at her home and shot her and then committed suicide. After the incident, the accused’s son got scared and reached the neighbor’s house and asked for help. After this the neighbor immediately called 911 and informed the police.

Protection order had been received earlier also

Police investigation revealed that Sara had obtained a protective order from the court against her husband only last month. It is alleged that Shaun committed this incident in violation of the same order. Sara had earlier also applied for a protection order against her husband in the year 2021.

Controversy increased after serious allegations

According to the report, recently Sara had made very serious allegations against her husband. He claimed that Shawn was caught behaving inappropriately with a minor child for his basketball team. After the allegations came to light, Shaun allegedly threatened to commit suicide and fled from there. In the same case, the mother of the child in question had also obtained a separate protection order against Shaun. The woman alleged that Shawn was trying to pay her daughter to keep quiet about his alleged inappropriate actions and messages.

After Sara’s death, her friends and well-wishers have started a GoFundMe campaign to help her two children. The campaign says that Sara was a devoted mother and her entire life revolved around her children. It is written in the fundraiser that this financial assistance is being collected to meet the children’s education, counselling, funeral expenses and future needs.
