UN Report Shows 37% Rise In Hunger Index Pakistan: A new and shocking report of the United Nations has come out, which has exposed the serious situation of Pakistan. According to this report, there has been a lot of improvement in the problem of hunger in many poor areas of the world and in India. But on the other hand, the situation in Pakistan has become worse than before. There has been a huge and worrying increase of 37 percent in the number of undernourished people in Pakistan in the last two decades.
Experts clearly believe that the policies of Pakistan’s army are completely responsible for this plight of Pakistan. The Pakistan government is continuously spending more than its required amount on army and weapons instead of the welfare of the general public. Due to the poor people spending all their money on the army, the country’s economic problems are increasing rapidly. The common people of Pakistan are now finding it very difficult to get even two meals a day.
Hunger situation in the world
According to the United Nations report, there has been a decline in hunger globally for the third consecutive year in the year 2025. In the year 2004-2005, 14 percent of the world’s population was facing starvation. Now in 2026 this number has come down to only 7.8 percent. In the year 2025, 645 million people in the world were victims of hunger, while in 2024, 8.1 percent people would be suffering and in 2022, 8.6 percent people would be suffering from it.
India made great improvements
India has set an excellent and brilliant example for the whole world in terms of reducing hunger in Asia. In India, 24.39 crore people were victims of malnutrition in the year 2004-2006, which will reduce to 14.25 crore by 2023-2025. India has achieved a spectacular reduction of 41.6 percent in these hunger figures. Special welfare programs run by the Government of India and farming have benefited a lot here.
Africa and Asia figures
Despite global progress, the pace of improvement in hunger is not uniform in different regions of the world. According to the report, for the first time Africa has become the continent with the highest number of people facing hunger. In the year 2025, about 309 million people in Africa were facing severe hunger. At the same time, Asia is in second place where 292 million people are directly facing this terrible and big crisis.
Pakistani army became a big hurdle
Experts say that starvation and malnutrition in Pakistan are not at all the result of any natural disaster. This is a very serious and deadly problem created by the military rulers and wrong policies there. Islamabad’s main focus always remains on military confrontation with India and the Kashmir issue. He does not care about the internal development of his country and the welfare of its poor citizens.
huge expenditure on weapons
Pakistan is wasting money indiscriminately like water on the defense budget of the army by starving its people. Pakistan has recently announced a huge defense budget of $10.8 billion for the year 2026-2027. This huge budget is 18 percent more than the year 2025, while the country is isolated from the world due to hunger. The Pakistan government leaves no stone unturned in raising money for weapons.
