Patna: There is relief news for such families in Bihar who do not yet have a ration card or due to some reason the name of any member of the family has not been included in the ration card. The state government has appealed to the eligible people to apply by August 5. The objective of the government is that all eligible families should get the benefits of the public distribution system on time and no needy family should be deprived of the scheme.

Apply by 5th August

A special campaign is being run by the Food and Consumer Protection Department to make new ration cards and add the names of the missing members. This campaign will especially benefit the workers, families living in slums, street vendors and other eligible families.

Online and Offline Application

The government has made the application process easy. Interested families can apply online through the official portal of the department. At the same time, offline applications are also being accepted at special counters set up in sub-division, zonal and block offices. According to the department, thousands of applications have already been received and the process of examining them is underway.

Target to issue ration cards before August 15

The government is trying to issue the ration cards of all eligible applicants before August 15. Families whose name was left out earlier will also be included in the ration card after verification so that the entire family can get the benefit of the food grain scheme.

Responsibility assigned to Vikas Mitra and officers

Marketing officers and Vikas Mitras have also been deployed to make the campaign successful. Their responsibility is to provide information about the scheme to the eligible families, assist in the application process and provide necessary guidance.
