Tej Pratap Yadav’s troubles increase: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav’s troubles have increased. The Patna police produced him before the court after his arrest, from where he was ordered to be sent to judicial custody for 14 days. Following the court order, Tej Pratap has been shifted to Beur Jail in Patna.
Joined the protest during the Bihar Bandh
According to reports, Tej Pratap Yadav took to the streets with the student protesters during the Bihar bandh call. Meanwhile, a case was registered against him at Gandhi Maidan Police Station. Police arrested him from Central Mall near Dak Bangla Chowk in Patna on Saturday evening and then took him to Digha Police Station.
Sent to jail after appearing in court
Tej Pratap Yadav was produced before a judicial magistrate late in the night. After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the court ordered to send them to judicial custody for 14 days. He was then shifted to Beur Jail.
The bail application will be on Monday
Tej Pratap’s lawyer Jagannath Singh said that a bail application will be filed on his behalf on Monday. On the other hand, his supporters alleged that initially the police did not give clear information about the arrest and the charges under which he was kept in custody.
Earlier also the police had taken him into custody
Tej Pratap Yadav was also taken into custody by the police during the students’ protest in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan and Ramgulam Chowk areas on Saturday afternoon. At that time he gave a statement in support of the students saying that he stands with them for the rights of the students.
He was released after a few minutes, but after reaching the Central Mall in the evening, the police arrested him again. Now the political debates over the entire matter have intensified, while the legal proceedings are progressing.
