Sky: Real Madrid in pole position to sign Leipzig gem Yan Diomande

Sky Sports has repeated that Real Madrid are still in front in the chase for Yan Diomande, even after Manchester City stepped up their push on Saturday. The Premier League club are prepared to offer €100 million for the Ivorian winger, which would make them the third side to reach that figure after Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Even so, Sky said there is no verbal agreement between the player and Manchester City. Real Madrid and PSG are also staying quiet about finalising the transfer, with the Spanish giants said to be continuing their pursuit after RB Leipzig rejected their opening bid.

Although PSG have not yet submitted a bid, the back-to-back Champions League winners had already reached a verbal agreement with the player some time ago. According to Sky, Real Madrid also managed to persuade the player in the last 24 hours.

The two clubs could now be drawn into a bidding battle, with RB Leipzig considering €100 million far too little to sign the 19-year-old. Diomande signed a contract until 2031 when he joined RB Leipzig from CD Leganés for €20 million last summer.
