Mother raised questions after Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation

After prolonged protests over the NEET paper leak, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from his post on Saturday, July 25. After this, the student's mother Neelam Chaturvedi raised the question that what would change merely by resigning. While talking to the media, she said that she supports the students' movement, but the minister's resignation alone is not enough for it. Neelam Chaturvedi said, "We are not satisfied with Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation. We have supported the students' protest. Those involved in the paper leak should get the harshest punishment."

The student was in deep shock after the cancellation of NEET exam.

Neelam Chaturvedi's daughter Akanksha Chaturvedi was preparing for the medical entrance exam NEET. He had given the exam on May 3 and told his family that his paper had gone very well. But after the announcement of cancellation of the exam, she went into deep shock. Shortly after this, on May 20, he committed suicide in Nagpur. Later the examination was conducted again after a month.

The family had taken a big step to fulfill the daughter's dream.

Akanksha's family was originally from Madhya Pradesh. The entire family had come and settled in Nagpur to fulfill the daughter's dream of becoming a doctor. Akanksha had enrolled in a coaching institute to prepare for the medical entrance exam. The family was confident that she would pass the exam with good marks.

'If I had a daughter, I would have taken care of everything'

Describing the condition of the family, Akanksha's mother said that after her daughter's departure, the entire family is broken. He said, Akanksha's father has suffered heart attack twice and is also paralyzed. Who will take care of us now? If my daughter was alive today, she would have taken care of everything.

Pain was expressed in the suicide note

In her handwritten note, 18-year-old Akanksha had mentioned the mental pressure and despair she was going through. In the note, she had written, "Mummy and Papa, you were confident that your daughter would work hard and become a doctor. But now I do not have the courage to give the NEET exam again. I was expected to get good marks in the first attempt, but now I am not sure that I will be able to perform like that again. Forgive me."

The family had struggled a lot for their daughter's education.

According to Akanksha Chaturvedi's family, the father faced financial difficulties for his daughter's education. He used to do farming and along with supporting the family's expenses, he also worked as a cook in Nagpur, so that he could bear the expenses of his daughter's coaching and education. Akanksha was very happy after returning from NEET exam. He was confident that he would score more than 650 marks. But after the news of paper leak and cancellation of examination, she was completely broken. She reduced her eating and drinking habits, almost stopped talking to people and started living under deep mental stress.

'We never thought this would happen'

The family says that they never had any idea that the situation would reach this point. According to him, Akanksha wanted to support her family by becoming a doctor, but the paper leak and subsequent loss of her daughter broke the entire family. Now Akanksha's mother Neelam Chaturvedi cried and said that she cannot get her daughter back, but she wants strict legal action to be taken against those responsible in the case so that no other student or family has to face such a tragedy in future.
