New Delhi: Ryan Gosling is officially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), putting to rest years of speculation. At Marvel Studios’ Hall H presentation during San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced that the Oscar-nominated actor would star in an upcoming Ghost Rider standalone film hitting theaters in 2028.

Why Is Shawn Levy Directing The Ghost Rider Movie?

Director Shawn Levy also joined Gosling on stage and explained how the project came together.

The duo recently worked together on Star Wars: Starfighter, which is scheduled for release in 2027. Levy revealed that while filming the movie, Gosling frequently spoke about his vision for Ghost Rider.

Those conversations gradually evolved into serious discussions about bringing the character to life on the big screen.

“As Ryan started talking about his vision for this character, we started riffing,” Levy said. He added that he eventually told Gosling, “Bro, let’s ride,” confirming their reunion for Marvel’s 2028 film.

Levy previously directed Marvel&8217;s blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine, making him a familiar name within the MCU.

Marvel Studios has not announced which Ghost Rider Gosling will play.
