A major initiative has been taken to promote trade between Saudi Arabia and Australia. Saudia Cargo has launched direct cargo service from Riyadh to Melbourne, Australia, starting 25 July 2026 resulted from. This is the first direct air freight corridor of its kind between the two countries. Boeing 747-400 Cargo aircraft are being used.
There will be a boom in trade and supply chain
The first aircraft of this new service will be based in Melbourne. Avalon Airport CEO of Ari Suss Has described it as a major logistical change. There itself, Australia Saudi Business Council President of Sam Jamsheedi Says that this is the beginning of a new era of trade and connectivity between the two countries. Saudi Cargo is currently rolling out this service and plans to expand its reach to other Australian airports in the future.
