BCCI Opens Bidding for Team India Title Sponsor Rights as Current Deal Nears End

The board of the Cricket Board of India BCCI has begun the process of searching for a new title sponsor for its home cricket tournaments. BCCI has put up an ITT for the title sponsorship of the cricket tournaments till 2026, as the then Sponsorship deal with IDFC FIRST Bank will end in Aug 2026.

 

The new cycle of sponsorship will include the hosting of all three formats of Indian home internationals as well as several domestic and age group tournaments.

 

Title Sponsor Rights Up for Grabs

 

The title sponsorship package comprises India home Tests, One-Day Internationals and T20 Internationals within the men's and women's teams. It also encompasses all the top domestic tournaments including the Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, Irani Cup and multiple age-group tournaments.

 

The BCCI announced that interested bidders may buy the ITT document by submitting a non-refundable amount of Rs 1 lakh along with the present GST rate. The documents will be available till 4 August, with bidders having the right to clarify doubts till 5 August. The last day for submission of bid documents is August 13.

 

The Board further clarified that acquiring the ITT does not make an entity eligible to bid. Only entities that meet the eligibility criteria specified in the tender document will be eligible to participate in the bidding process.

BCCI Also Invites Associate Partner Bids

 

In addition to the title sponsorship, BCCI has also issued an RFQ for associate partner rights.

 

Earlier associate partners were SBI Life Insurance, Campa Cola, Atomberg Technologies and Asian Paints. The winners of the newer cycle will enjoy branding rights in all home international competitions, domestic games and age-group competitions across India.

 

Deadline for companies with an interest to buy the RFQ is August 14; for clarification requests, the deadline is August 16, and the closing date for submission of final prices is August 25, 2012.

 

New Commercial Cycle Set to Begin

 

The BCCI indicated that all the eligibility and other prerequisites and Tender requirements would be disclosed only after getting the amount mentioned above (non-refundable fee) and otherwise retain the right, at their discretion, not to communicate, change, cancel and/or abolish the entire Tender procedure wherever deemed appropriate, including during the process.

 

As the current sponsorship cycle concludes, this new tender heralds the start of a new commercial era for Indian cricket. The winning bidders will garner fantastic branding exposure for Team India's home games and the country's largest domestic competitions, making this one of the most prestigious sponsorship opportunities in world cricket.
