The monsoon session of Jharkhand Assembly will start from August 6 and will continue till August 12. The opposition is preparing to corner the government by making the alleged irregularities in JPSC recruitment a major issue, while the ruling party is making a strategy to respond citing investigation and action.

Ranchi: The monsoon session of Jharkhand Assembly is going to start from 6th August. In this session of five working days, a heated political debate can be seen between the ruling party and the opposition. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to make the alleged corruption and recruitment irregularities to the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) a major issue, while the government, on its part, is planning a strategy to advocate investigation and action.

Preparation to corner the government on JPSC recruitment controversy

During the monsoon session, the main focus of the opposition will be on the controversy to JPSC 14th Civil Services Preliminary Examination. BJP alleges that there have been irregularities in the examination process and it is preparing to demand answers from the government inside and outside the House on this issue. It is believed that there may be a huge uproar on this issue in the initial days of the session.

Along with BJP, AJSU party is also preparing to raise this issue prominently. The aim of the opposition parties is to put pressure on the government regarding transparency and accountability in the recruitment process.

Government will refer to investigation and action

The strategy of the ruling party is to highlight the action taken so far in the JPSC case. The government is preparing to inform that the investigation of the case has been handed over to CID and during the investigation, action has been taken against the then controller of examinations in-charge, some officers and employees of the concerned agency. Also, by mentioning the resignation of the then Chairman of the Commission, the government can emphasize on its ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards corruption.

Political conflict may also arise over NEET paper leak

During the assembly session, the ruling party may also try to hit back at the opposition by raising the issue of NEET paper leak to the central government. Congress has earlier also attacked BJP on this issue and it is likely to be made a part of the political debate during the session.

However, the strategy of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on this issue will also be monitored. On the other hand, there has been no major response from Janata Dal (United) on this topic so far.

The monsoon session of Jharkhand Assembly will be held from August 6 to August 12. A total of five working days are scheduled during this period. Political experts believe that there could be a heated debate between the ruling party and the opposition on the JPSC controversy, transparency of the recruitment process, law and order and other issues to public interest. In such a situation, this monsoon session is being considered very important from the point of view of state politics.
