Real Madrid and RB Leipzig have reached an agreement in principle with RB Leipzig over the transfer of Ivory Coast international winger Yan Diomandé (19), as reported by RMC Sport. PSG, who had initially agreed personal terms with Diomandé, have pulled out of the deal. Diomandé’s transfer fee is expected to go beyond the €100m mark.
For several weeks, the back-to-back Champions League winners had been the favourites to sign Diomandé. However, PSG’s attempts to drive down his transfer fee have backfired, and the player is now set to join Real Madrid.
RMC Sport adds that PSG have decided not to meet RB Leipzig’s financial demands, with Les Parisiens unwilling to overpay for Diomandé. In addition, PSG officials are said to have been left disappointed by the conduct of Diomandé’s agents. The latter reportedly changed their position despite having already reached an agreement with PSG.
