YouTube New Update: YouTube has become a widely used social media platform today. Recently, YouTube rolled out an update that changes how content creators make thumbnails. This new feature will be particularly useful for creators who make Shorts. Creators will now have options that allow them to present their videos to the audience more effectively.
This option will be available on desktop
YouTube has introduced a new feature for desktop users. With this, users uploading Shorts will get three different frame options to choose from and use as they see fit.
For your information, this feature was previously available only for long-form videos but has now been extended to Shorts. Meanwhile, on the mobile app, creators can still select any frame from the video to use as a thumbnail, just as before.
Custom thumbnails can now be uploaded for Shorts
Creators associated with the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) will now have the feature to upload custom thumbnails of their choice for Shorts videos. This allows creators to use attractive and professional thumbnails tailored to their video's subject, making it easier to grab the audience's attention.
Moreover, this facility is not limited to new Shorts. If a creator wants to change the thumbnail of an older Short, they can go to the 'Content' section in the desktop version of YouTube Studio and add a new thumbnail for that specific video. The company states that this feature will be made available to more users in the future.
AI will generate thumbnails
Additionally, YouTube has enhanced its in-house AI tool, 'Ask Studio,' making it smarter than before. The tool can now generate AI-based thumbnails for videos. Creators can generate a thumbnail exactly to their liking simply by providing a prompt. Additionally, if the generated design isn't to their liking, they can modify elements like color, layout, and text to select a different thumbnail. This new YouTube update will prove highly beneficial for both content creators and users, while also enabling creators to attract their audience more effectively than before.
