Behind-the-scenes visuals from the set suggest the duo was shooting a romantic scene. Vijay Sethupathi was seen sporting a black T-shirt and blue jeans, while Sai Pallavi appeared in an elegant red gown paired with high heels. Mani Ratnam was spotted guiding the actors between takes and closely supervising the shoot into the early hours of the morning.
The film, currently titled "Madras Talkies Production No. 23," marks Ratnam's return to filming in Kolkata after more than two decades. His last major shoot in the city was for the 2004 political drama Yuva, which featured scenes filmed around Vidyasagar Setu. On the work front, Vijay Sethupathi will next headline "Slum Dog: 33 Temple Road," an action entertainer directed by Puri Jagannadh. The film also features Samyuktha and Tabu in pivotal roles.
He has also announced "Pocket Novel," directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja. The film marks the director's reunion with Sethupathi after their critically acclaimed collaboration in Super Deluxe. Malavika Mohanan and Raj B. Shetty also play key roles in the upcoming project.
Meanwhile, Sai Pallavi is gearing up for one of her biggest releases yet, playing the role of Sita in Ramayana, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Yash. ALSO READ: OG Sita feels Sai Pallavi is a misfit for Siya's Role in Ramayana
