Reports of Katrina Kaif joining the cast of Prabhas and Triptii Dimri 's upcoming film ' Spirit ' have been making the rounds, but the actor has reportedly not committed to the project yet. While she has been approached for a special appearance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's action drama, discussions are still underway.
According to Mid-Day, reports suggest that Katrina was recently offered a pivotal cameo that appears at a crucial stage in the narrative. Although there has been speculation that the deal has already been locked, that is reportedly not the case. The report stated, "The cameo comes at an important point in the film. She was offered the role a week ago and has not given her final answer yet."
Work hours become key talking pointThe role is expected to require only about five days of filming. However, the scheduling of those shoot days has become an important factor in the ongoing discussions. As a new mother, Katrina is said to be looking for a more balanced work routine rather than the extended shooting hours often associated with Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film sets.
The report added, "As a new mother, one of her concerns is the long shifts Vanga is known for. Since it’s only a five-day commitment, there have been discussions around making the schedule more flexible, including comfortable work hours. However, nothing has been finalised."
For now, Katrina has neither accepted nor declined the offer. With conversations continuing between the actor and the filmmaker over scheduling, it remains to be seen whether she will ultimately come on board for the much-awaited 'Spirit'.
Casting buzz follows Deepika Padukone's exit Earlier, Deepika Padukone had reportedly been signed as the female lead opposite Prabhas. The two previously shared screen space in 'Kalki 2898 AD', though many viewers felt they had relatively few scenes together. However, Deepika is no longer associated with 'Spirit', paving the way for fresh speculation about the film's casting.
Katrina Kaif's possible return to Telugu cinema
If Katrina comes on board, the project would mark her return to Telugu cinema after nearly two decades. She was last seen in Telugu films such as 'Malliswari' alongside Venkatesh and 'Allari Pidugu' with Nandamuri Balakrishna. The actress has also kept a relatively low profile professionally since marrying Vicky Kaushal , taking on fewer projects in recent years. Her last few releases did not perform as expected, and she has largely stayed away from announcing new films.
