Sumanth starrer Mahendragiri Varahi, directed by Santhossh Jagarlapudi, is all set for its theatrical release on September 11, as officially announced by the makers. Producer Madhu revealed that the teaser crossed 1 crore views, receiving an overwhelming response. He said the impressive reception helped the makers close the film’s non-theatrical business immediately after the teaser launch. According to him, the team has made a high-quality film with a climax that audiences have never witnessed before. Madhu also disclosed that a leading star hero plays a special role lasting around 20 minutes, adding that the surprise appearance will be unveiled in the trailer. Director Santhossh Jagarlapudi described the film as a devotional thriller and assured that every upcoming promotional asset would live up to audience expectations. He highlighted that Aishwarya Rajesh plays the pivotal role of Varahi Amma Varu. He also revealed that the team is planning to invite Pawan Kalyan as the chief guest for the pre-release event. Sumanth spoke about the film’s long journey, saying the project began two-and-a-half years ago and faced delays because the makers wanted producers who could support the ambitious budget. He stressed that the teaser only offered a glimpse, while the film is packed with surprises, thrilling twists, and goosebumps-inducing moments. “Santossh Jagarlapudi’s has a deep understanding of mythology and history. We approved the project even before the wave of devotional films like Kantara, believing strongly in its potential. I’m an agnotic,but not atheist. I believe in a higher power and has always been fascinated by Indian history, mythology, and culture.”
