Farooq Engineer said that at present Shubman Gill is one of the best batsmen of India and he should bat at number-4. According to him, the left-right hand opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Vaibhav Suryavanshi can prove to be more effective for the team.

He said, “If Rohit Sharma is playing then he should open with Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Shubman Gill should bat at number-4 and Virat Kohli should come at number-3. This will further strengthen India’s batting order.”

Farooq Engineer believes that Suryavanshi has now earned every right to get a place in the ODI team. He said that there is not much difference between ODI and T20 batting and if a batsman is scoring runs consistently then he should get a chance in the longer format as well.

The former cricketer further said that a talented player like Suryavanshi should maintain his natural batting style instead of teaching him excessive technical changes. He compared him to a great batsman Vivian Richards While saying that such players have the ability to win matches with their natural game.

Farooq Engineer expressed confidence that if Indians
