Gujarat Ayurved University Paper Leak: Just as the controversy surrounding the NEET paper leak was settling down, another contentious case of a paper leak has emerged from Jamnagar, Gujarat. The Jamnagar-based Gujarat Ayurved University is once again under scrutiny regarding its examination system. Allegations have arisen concerning a paper leak in the BAMS third-year 'Shalya Tantra-1' exam. It is claimed that 11 out of the 12 'important' questions that went viral on WhatsApp prior to the exam actually appeared in the question paper. Following this, students and various student organizations have demanded an impartial investigation.

Allegation of Questions Going Viral Before the Exam

It came to light that certain 'important' questions had gone viral on the social media platform WhatsApp before the BAMS third-year 'Shalya Tantra-1' exam, held on July 20. After the exam concluded, students claimed that 11 of the 12 viral questions were included in the actual question paper. This claim raised suspicions of a paper leak.

Issue Came to Light After the Exam

Reports indicate that many students who took the exam learned about the matter only after it had concluded. Subsequently, serious questions were raised regarding the university's examination system and security arrangements. Students argue that if there is such a high degree of similarity between the viral material and the question paper, a fair investigation into the entire matter is warranted.

Special Committee Formed for Investigation

According to H.P. Jhala, the university's Acting Director of Examinations, the exam was conducted according to the scheduled timetable. Later, information was received that certain questions had gone viral on WhatsApp prior to the exam; following discussions with the Vice-Chancellor, a decision was made to constitute a special committee to investigate the matter. The university stated that the committee would examine the viral material, the original question paper, and other relevant facts. If the investigation reveals any violation of rules, the university will initiate legal action in accordance with the regulations.

Student organizations demand an impartial inquiry

The Youth Congress and NSUI have submitted a memorandum to the university administration, demanding a high-level and transparent investigation into the matter. The organizations state that if the paper leak is confirmed, strict legal action should be taken against those responsible, and an appropriate decision should be made keeping the students' interests in mind. They have also warned that if prompt action is not taken, they will launch a protest alongside the students. Additionally, the university has clarified that examinations for other subjects in the 20 to 25 affiliated colleges will continue as per the previously announced schedule.
