Bradley Barcola has told Paris Saint-Germain that he wants to leave the club this summer after turning down a rich new contract offer. The French international is said to be looking at a move to the Premier League, with Liverpool now leading the race to sign him in a major high-profile deal.
Barcola turns down new PSG contract
Paris Saint-Germain star Barcola has created a stir at the Parc des Princes by rejecting an official offer to extend his stay in the French capital. Although he is currently contracted to the Ligue 1 champions until 2028, the 23-year-old winger has made it clear that he is ready for a new challenge.
According to Sky Sport, the situation has developed quickly, and Barcola has already passed on his decision to the club's senior management. This leaves PSG in a tough spot, as they had seen the former Lyon academy graduate as a key part of their long-term plan alongside the likes of Desire Doue.
However, the forward's refusal to put pen to paper has opened the door for Europe's top clubs to test PSG's determination, with the player reportedly having reached a personal agreement with Liverpool.
Liverpool in front for French star
Liverpool have marked Barcola as their main attacking target as they aim to strengthen their forward line for the new season. The Reds have already made contact with both the player's camp and PSG officials to assess how realistic the transfer could be.
It is understood that the Merseyside club are ready to offer the Frenchman a substantial salary, which would place him among the club's highest earners if the move is eventually approved.
Journalist Florian Plettenberg has also said that Liverpool are in talks with Barcola's representatives after it emerged that he will not extend his contract. Arsenal have also been linked with interest in the winger as competition for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, but Liverpool seem to be working more aggressively to complete a deal before the transfer deadline.
Huge €170m price tag on the table
Signing Barcola will not be simple or cheap for any club interested in him. Reports from RMC Sport say that PSG have placed a massive valuation of €170 million on the player, a figure that would make him one of the most expensive transfers in football history.
This eye-catching asking price reflects Barcola's rising reputation after a strong season in which he displayed his top-level pace, sharp finishing, and skilful dribbling on both the domestic and international stages.
While Liverpool and other interested clubs may be reluctant to match such a huge valuation straight away, Barcola's firm position on not renewing his contract could force PSG to rethink their financial demands.

Past interest and future outlook
Barcola's rise to prominence has been closely watched by several top clubs over the past two years. Bayern Munich were earlier credited with strong interest in the right-footed attacker, with the German giants seeing him as an ideal fit for their system before a move eventually failed to happen.
His displays for France at major international tournaments have only raised his market value further and drawn more high-profile admirers from across the continent.
