UPSSSC Scientific Assistant and Lab Assistant Recruitment 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has announced recruitment for the posts of Scientific Assistant and Lab Assistant at the Forensic Science Laboratory, Uttar Pradesh. A total of 208 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment drive. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online by visiting the Commission's official website, upsssc.gov.in, from July 27, 2026, to August 17, 2026.
This recruitment will be conducted based on the PET-2025. Only those candidates who appeared for the PET-2025 examination and secured a normalized score of zero or higher are eligible to apply.

Who can apply?
Participation in PET-2025 is mandatory for candidates applying for this recruitment. Educational qualifications have been prescribed separately for each post.
A bachelor's degree in the relevant subject is required for the Lab Assistant post.
A bachelor's degree in the relevant subject or an equivalent qualification is required for the Scientific Assistant post. Such as-

Who will be given preference?
According to the Commission, preference will be given to the following candidates:
Those who have served in the Territorial Army for at least two years
Holders of the NCC 'B' Certificate
Candidates possessing an M.Sc. in the relevant subject or higher qualifications in Computer Science for the post of Scientific Assistant
What is the prescribed age limit?
The age limit will be calculated as of July 1, 2026. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will receive age relaxation in accordance with Uttar Pradesh government rules.
Minimum age: 21 years
Maximum age: 40 years
How will the selection take place?
The recruitment process will be completed in two stages:
Shortlisting for the Main Examination based on the PET-2025 score
Main Written Examination
The Commission generally shortlists candidates for the Main Examination numbering approximately 15 times the advertised posts in each category. Final selection will be based on the marks obtained in the Main Examination.
What is the application fee?
An online processing fee of ₹25 has been fixed for candidates of all categories. Candidates selected for the Main Examination will be required to deposit a separate examination fee before downloading their admit cards.
Important points for candidates
Reservation benefits will be available only to natives of Uttar Pradesh.
Candidates from other states will be treated under the General category.
The EWS certificate must be valid for the financial year 2026-27.
Modifications to the details provided in the application can be made until August 24, 2026.
