New Delhi, 27 July. Rouse Avenue Special Fast Track Court has directed to appoint a public prosecutor to represent the CBI in the NEET UG paper leak case. On Monday, Special Judge Anu Grover Baliga issued this order to the concerned Director of Prosecution.

The next hearing of the case will be on August 3.

The fast track court adjourned the hearing on the bail plea of ​​Dinesh Biwal and Vikas Biwal as no lawyer appeared for the CBI. Now the next hearing of this case will be on August 3. This was the first hearing in the special fast track court constituted under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 in the NEET UG paper leak case.

The matter is to the bail of 2 accused – Dinesh Biwal and Vikas Biwal.

According to CBI, Dinesh Biwal and Vikas Biwal are among the 13 accused who were arrested for leaking the NEET UG paper before the exam. Both the accused are currently in judicial custody till August 6. The agency alleges that Mangilal Biwal had contacted Shubham Khairnar to obtain the leaked papers for his son Vikas Biwal. Papers have also been recovered from Mangilal’s phone.

According to CBI, Mangilal had received the leaked paper from Yash Yadav for Rs 10 lakh. After this, the accused together sold the paper to other candidates for Rs 12 lakh through a big network. The FIR registered on May 12, 2026, includes sections to BNS, Prevention of Corruption Act and unfair means in examination.

• On July 23, a special fast track court was constituted to hear the case at Rouse Avenue Court.
• All cases are now being transferred to this court.
• The court had earlier allowed accused Yash Yadav to appear for NEET UG and attend his sister’s wedding.

This matter is being considered very sensitive amid the questions raised regarding the fairness and transparency of the NEET exam across the country. The hearing of the case is expected to speed up after the appointment of CBI Public Prosecutor in the next hearing of the court.
