The biggest news of this team is the return of experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. After becoming fully fit from the injury, Jadeja has once again become a part of the Indian Test team. At the same time, young spin all-rounder Saransh Jain has got a place in the Indian Test team for the first time. Ravindra Jadeja Was suffering from tennis elbow (elbow injury) during IPL 2026. For this reason he was out of the Indian team for some time. Who is Saransh Jain?
Saransh Jain plays domestic cricket for Madhya Pradesh. Recently, he performed brilliantly for India A against Sri Lanka A, after which he has been included in the senior Indian Test team for the first time. Saransh has taken 131 wickets in 42 first class matches so far. His bowling average is 28.51 and economy is 2.99 runs per over. His best spell in an innings is 103 runs for 6 wickets. Apart from this, he is also a useful batsman and can make important contributions to the team in the lower order.
Decision will be taken on the fitness of these players
BCCI has said that the availability of Jasprit Bumrah and Sai Sudarshan will depend on their fitness clearance. If both are found fully fit, they will get a chance to play in the Test series.
The tour will start with a practice match
India's tour of Sri Lanka will begin from August 7 with a four-day practice match in Colombo. After this, the first Test will be played in Galle from 15 to 19 August, while the second Test will be held in Colombo from 23 to 27 August.
