Dividend Stock: Tata Sons, the principal holding company of the Tata Group, has generated substantial profits in the 2026 financial year and intends to distribute a portion of these earnings to investors as dividends.

According to the company's annual financial report, it earned a profit of ₹31,961 crore this year—a 21.8% rise over the ₹26,232 crore profit recorded in the previous financial year. During the same period, total revenue grew by 9.1% to ₹42,367 crore, up from ₹38,835 crore in FY25. The company is now preparing to distribute dividends to its investors.

Plans for a bumper dividend payout

The company's Board of Directors has recommended a dividend payout of ₹1,10,717 per share. Last year, the company paid a dividend of ₹64,900 per share. This represents a massive 70% increase in the dividend amount compared to the previous year.

If approved at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) of shareholders, Tata Sons will pay out a total of ₹4,475 crore in dividends. Since Tata Sons is not a listed company on the stock exchange, the benefits will accrue to its major trusts and promoters rather than to retail investors.

Who stands to benefit?

The Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, which holds an approximately 66% stake in Tata Sons, will be the primary beneficiary of this dividend. Tata Sons will pay a massive dividend of ₹1,252 crore for this. Additionally, Noel Tata, who holds 4,060 shares of Tata Sons, will receive ₹45 crore in dividends.
