New Delhi: Another action-packed day is on the cards for India at the Commonwealth Games 2026 on Tuesday, July 28. Indian athletes have so far won ten medals, including two gold at the Glasgow Games and will be looking to add to their tally on Day 6 of the competition on Tuesday.
On Monday, India added six medals to their tally, with weightlifters continuing their medal spree at the Commonwealth Games 2026. Weightlifters Gyaneshwari Yadav and Valluri Ajaya Babu bagged silver medals in their respective categories, while Bindyarani Devi won a bronze medal in the women’s 58kg event.
Para-athlete Sharmila Dhankar won a gold medal in the women’s shot put F57 event to bag India’s second gold in the ongoing competition. Dhankar etched her name in history by clinching India’s first-ever CWG gold in para athletics. On Tuesday, Indian athletes will hope to continue their medal spree in Glasgow.
India’s hopes on Day 6 will once again rest on the weightlifters, who are in medal contention. Nirupama Devi Seram will compete in the women’s 63kg weightlifting final, while Harjinder Kaur will be in action in the women’s 69kg final. Meanwhile, Pooja Singh and Gulveer Singh will also be taking part in their respective finals in athletics.
