The audience is already curious about Bollywood actor Sunny Deol’s upcoming film ‘Batwara 1947’. Now an update to the film has come out, which has caught the attention of the fans. Actually, Sunny Deol shared the information about the approval the film got from the Censor Board. Also wrote a special post for his mother Prakash Kaur. The actor dedicated the film to his mother and every mother in the world.

Sunny Deol expressed happiness about the film ‘Batwara 1947’ on his Instagram story and said that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has passed the film without any cuts. He wrote, “We are happy that ‘Batwara 1947’ has been passed by the Censor Board without a single cut and given an A certificate. This film is about humanity and love. Watch the film in theaters this Partition Day (Partition Holocaust Remembrance Day, 14 August).”

Apart from this, Sunny Deol also shared a beautiful picture with his mother Prakash Kaur on Instagram. In the picture, Sunny is seen sitting with his mother and both are seen smiling looking at the camera. In this post he revealed about the trailer release date of the film.

Sunny Deol wrote in the caption of this post, “My mother is my God. My love, my courage, my strength. I dedicate ‘Batwara 1947’ to my mother and every mother in the world. The trailer of the film will come tomorrow (July 28).”

Whereas, if we talk about the film ‘Batwara 1947’, its story is based on the most painful period in the history of India i.e. the partition of the year 1947. The film will show the migration, violence, fear and pain of separation that occurred at that time.

The story of the film is based on the famous play ‘Jis Lahore Ni Vekhya’ by famous playwright Syed Asghar Wajahat. The story revolves around a Muslim family who moves from Lucknow to Lahore after Partition. There he finds a mansion to live in, but the house is already occupied by an elderly Hindu woman who refuses to leave her ancestral home.

In the beginning there are tensions and differences between the two parties, but gradually the story moves towards relationships, sensitivities and humanity. Artists like Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal, Karan Deol and Abhimanyu Singh will be seen along with Sunny Deol in the film.

‘Batwara 1947’ is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit. This film is made under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions. The music of the film was composed by A. R. Rahman, while the lyrics have been written by Javed Akhtar.

The film will be released in theaters on 14 August 2026.
