Bradley Barcola has given the green light for a move to Liverpool, with discussions still going on over a possible transfer.
The Paris Saint-Germain winger wants to head to the Premier League this summer as he is seeking a bigger role.
Liverpool are keen to strike an agreement with PSG for the player, but they believe the club’s present €170m valuation is unrealistic.
PSG have fixed their asking price, which would amount to a British transfer record, taking into account the recent deals for Elliot Anderson (£116m) and Morgan Rogers (£117m) in the Premier League.
The Reds are hopeful that Barcola’s wish to move to Anfield, along with his contract that runs until 2028, can help the negotiations. Barcola has made it clear that he does not want to sign a fresh deal in Paris.
The Athletic are reporting that Luis Enrique has made it clear he only wants committed players at the Parc des Princes, in another development that could aid Liverpool’s pursuit.
Barcola has reportedly reached an agreement with Liverpool on personal terms, with the transfer fee still the main hurdle stopping a move to England for now.
Liverpool have switched their attention to Barcola after growing frustrated in their move for Yan Diomande. The club had an offer of around £85m turned down for the RB Leipzig winger earlier this summer, with Diomande now edging closer to a transfer to Real Madrid.
